Moonlight Valley Wilderness Lodge is located about 35 km north of Edson, Alberta, Canada. Enjoy the full use of this exclusive privately owned family retreat in Alberta's boreal forest. This vacation property is located on a 160 acre parcel of private wilderness surrounded by Crown land. You may have the private use of the entire three bedroom log lodge during your stay. The newly built lodge has 3 private bedrooms with one queen bed and private bathroom in each room. Two of the bedrooms have a two person jacuzzi tub
and the third bedroom has a single jetted tub. There is a spacious living area with large picture windows, a full kitchen with dining area, small bathroom downstairs, sitting room/library on the second floor, washer/dryer, CD/stereo, VCR/DVD/TV (no television service), outside deck and BBQ. There is no phone in the vacation home but a phone is available nearby at the owner's residence for emergencies and cell phone service may be available. The lodge is surrounded by forest, where over 70 varieties of birds make their homes in summer. Sit and relax in a truly remote setting and enjoy the scenery and local wildlife. All year long, moose, deer and elk are found close at hand. Bears are often seen spring, summer and fall, and occasionally wolves may be heard howling. There are active beaver lodges/dams on the property too and these industrious mammals are often seen at dawn & dusk. The north fork of the Edson River flows through the property where native Athabasca rainbow trout and arctic grayling may be caught. The area offers many other fishing opportunities and is a perfect base to explore the region's rivers and streams. The lodge owners maintain 16 km of cross country skiing, hiking and mountain bike trails on the property, and there is access to adjacent Crown land and a network of trails for those wishing to explore further. ATVing and snowmobiling enthusiasts will find a vast network of trails and terrain right outside the lodge doors. From the doorsteps of the lodge you can access the Silver Summit snowmobile trail, located only 3 km to the east, which connects to the Golden Triangle snowmobile trail system to the north. This is a non smoking resort, and there are pets on the property. There is plenty to see and do during your stay at Moonlight Valley, located in the true Canadian wilderness.
